Student Workshop

In 2016 working with students from the University of Sarajevo, Faculty of Architecture and Faculty of Art Conservation, projectvarchitecture ran a series of evening workshops exploring measuring and recording techniques with the History Museum of BiH.  The measuring and recording process explored every scale of the building from the structure and architecture, to individual items of furniture and smaller bespoke objects.  The workshops focused on measuring and photographically documenting the Library, which has remained relatively untouched since before the 1990’s and houses a number of very important manuscripts from the ex Yugoslavian period of history and earlier. The Library sits within the Administration wing and was damaged during the Siege of Sarajevo and during the years of neglect after the war.

The students worked with projectvarchitecture and our collaborators to measure the Library in detail.  Since this, the Museum staff and curators have reorganised the Library and made it more publicly accessible.
